Amidst a gyrating stock market and persistently high unemployment rates, one bright spot in the U.S. economy is the availability of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) jobs.
A new report issued by the U.S. Department of Commerce Economics and Statistics Administration entitled STEM: Good Jobs Now and for the Future finds that STEM occupations are a safe career option for the next decade. The ESA is projecting that STEM occupations will grow by 17% from 2008 to 2018, compared to only 9.8% for other occupations.
