Share the Joy with a Charitable Gift from EFAC

Rye, NH (PRWEB) November 21, 2011

Education for All Children (EFAC http://www.educationforallchildren.org) announced it will Share the Joy this holiday season by offering donors African beaded bracelets from the Maasai womens cooperative in Kenya, Africa. For a holiday donation of $ 50 or more, supporters will receive a beautiful beaded bracelet as a thank you for helping young students in Africa realize their potential through scholarships and mentoring opportunities.

EFAC is also introducing a new Party Pack to help patrons Share the Joy with their friends and colleagues during this season of giving. With a commitment of a group donation of $ 250, party hosts will receive an EFAC Party Pack including five Maasai beaded bracelets, brochures, gift donation cards, and helpful hints to make a holiday party have a lasting impact. The Party Pack is a simple way to make celebrations more meaningful and to incorporate the joy of giving into a holiday gathering. All donations collected through the program will help provide education, mentoring and global connections to students in critical financial need in Kenya. These limited time offers end on January 15, 2012.

We have been incredibly fortunate in the support EFAC has received from our donors since our establishment three years ago, said Nancy Van Sciver, executive director and founder of EFAC. Our Share the Joy program is an opportunity for us to give back to our donors and support the Womens Cooperative in the Maasai. We provide scholarships for a number of high school students in this region and are now able to further assist the community through the purchase of these unique bracelets. Share the Joy helps our students, provides economic relief to a community in need and is a gesture of thanks to our donors.

EFAC was founded by Rod and Nancy Van Sciver in 2008. With a desire to make a large, significant change, the Van Scivers established a program to educate bright but deeply underprivileged children in Kenya. Neither had prior experience in international development but were committed to the values of education and entrepreneurship. They formed a partnership with the African Nazarene University (ANU) to assist in the selection of students, the overview and evaluation of schools and mentoring for each student to insure success. Three years after taking these initial steps, EFAC now provides school scholarships to over 150 students. Many of these children are homeless or orphans and are thriving and succeeding through the support of EFAC and its partners. The long term goal is to change Kenya through educational opportunities for its children and provide them with mentoring post-graduation to become future leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals prepared for the challenges of the twenty-first century.

GramercyOne Launches App Empowering Service Businesses To Sell Holiday Gift Certificates Directly On Facebook

Service businesses can maximize lucrative gift certificate sales over the holiday season while capitalizing on the booming Facebook commerce market thanks to a new App unveiled today by GramercyOne. The new App enables businesses to sell gift certificates directly from their Facebook pages for the first time, creating instant gift certificates which consumers can print, email and send viral across the worlds largest social media network.

GramercyOne, which secured a $ 14.5m funding round in October led by Revolution Ventures, specializes in creating cloud-based business management and marketing tools that enable businesses to tap into the power of digital commerce. Its Booker Platform is used by more than 2,700 businesses around the globe from multi-national enterprises like Hilton Worldwide to single-location spas, salons, fitness centers and local service businesses. The platform processes more than 700,000 transactions per month, averaging in excess of $ 1.3 million per day in transaction volume.

According to GramercyOne, holiday gift certificates account for over one-third of total sales across businesses that use the Booker Platform during the holiday season, totaling $ 8.3 million in 2010. Last year, 36% of all December gift certificate sales across the platform occurred last-minute, during the four days leading up to Christmas. The company predicts that more than $ 20 million in gift certificate and card sales will be transacted across the Booker Platform this holiday season.

Gift certificates are crucial to the success of holiday sales for business of all sizes, said GramercyOnes COO, Daniel Lizio-Katzen. At a time of year when business owners are busier than ever, our gifting tools make it easy for them to leverage their online, mobile, and now even Facebook presence to maximize sales.

GramercyOne has been at the forefront of creating tools that enable businesses to tap in to the power of social commerce, a market which is predicted to total over $ 1 billion in the U.S. during 2011 (Booz & Co.) In July, the company introduced a fully integrated scheduling application for Facebook and, with the launch of its latest app, is now the only cloud based business management and marketing platform to enable its merchants to sell gift certificates directly from their Facebook page. The significance of gifting in social commerce was highlighted last week by the introduction of the PayPal Facebook app.
