Walk KidneyWise Los Angeles to Help Launch KidneyWise with Fundraising Walk in Santa Monica

Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) February 23, 2010

And the golden statue for the best use of family exercise, increased community awareness, gorgeous ocean side cinematography and most importantly, raising of vital funds for Chronic Kidney Disease goes to................Walk KidneyWise Los Angeles.

On Sunday, March 7, the first-ever Walk KidneyWise Los Angeles (http://www.LosAngelesWalk.org) will take place at Ocean View Park at 2701 Barnard Way in Santa Monica, CA. This fundraising event will introduce KidneyWise (http://www.KidneyWise.org) as a groundbreaking movement addressing the disturbing statistic that more than 50 million Americans either have chronic kidney disease (CKD) or are at risk for it. That includes 1.6 million in Los Angeles County alone facing permanent kidney failure and other serious diseases such as hypertension, obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

KidneyWise is a non-profit organization and national movement with a vision to stop chronic kidney disease in its tracks, says KidneyWise Executive Director Leigh Reynolds. Our mission unites the strength of millions of Americans affected by chronic kidney disease with the best practices of our nations leading organizations to redefine prevention.

Walk KidneyWise Los Angeles also coincides with the start of National Kidney Month and leads into World Kidney Day (March 11) and its week-long series of events and seminars.

On the morning of March 7, long before the first limousine picks up the first starlet heading to that evening's 82nd Academy Awards ceremony, Walk KidneyWise Los Angeles will be rolling out its own carpet and welcoming walkers, participants and special volunteers. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the Walk kicks off at 10:30 a.m. Ocean View Park is approximately one south of the Santa Monica Pier and one-quarter mile north of Venice Beach.

Walkers will have the option of a two-or four-mile trek. Both routes will begin going south toward Venice Beach on the Ocean Front Walking Path. Water stops will pepper the course. Four-mile walkers will first go south, then head north one mile and turn around just south of the Santa Monica Pier before heading back to Ocean View Park. For children, there will be a WiseKids Dash.

Steven Cojocaru, a fashion critic and entertainment reporter inspired by his own life-saving kidney transplant, has formed Team Cojo to participate in the walk and raise funds.

During the Walk, we'll be announcing our commitment and collaboration with key partnering organizations toward building a healthier Los Angeles, pledges Reynolds. We're asking every walker to ask 20 friends for $ 20. Every dollar counts in backing up our mission that chronic kidney disease and associated diseases must end. To register today, and for more information, please visit http://www.LosAngelesWalk.org or call 1-877-753-WALK.

Power Women Business Center Opens in Santa Clarita

Santa Clarita, CA (PRWEB) January 22, 2010

It was eight years ago that Patricia Gracia started her advertising agency from her living room, with little more than a computer, a phone, and a fax machine. With the help of sales veteran Tony Gracia three years later, that small venture became a blossoming corporation and today, Power Media Group is a multimillion dollar company targeting a booming Hispanic market.

Drawing from their own experience, the Gracias now want to help other entrepreneurs take their business to the next level.

Power Women Business Center will be the first of its kind in the region offering a fully-furnished office space at an affordable cost, along with the tools and support necessary to help accelerate the development of small businesses. The Center celebrated its Grand Opening Jan. 21.

In todays difficult economic climate, Power Women Business Center will provide relief to those entrepreneurs struggling to launch their business out of their homes but who cant afford to rent office space.

I started this business center thinking of myself eight years ago when I launched my business, Patricia said. I remember how hard it was, and how I wished there had been something like this to help me. Often times its really difficult to work out of your home but you really dont need to spend $ 800 on rent for a tiny office. This center is going to give business owners all the benefits of an office and more, at half the cost.

Member entrepreneurs will benefit from private fully-furnished cubicles complete with telephone systems, high speed internet, printers, fax and copy machines. Conference rooms, a reception lounge for visitors and a fully equipped kitchen lounge that could be used as a showroom or for networking with colleagues, will also be available.

Members will be able to use the center as their business address where on site staff, including a trilingual receptionist (English, Spanish, French), will handle all of their incoming mail and faxes. Using the latest technology in phone systems, members will have access to voicemail via e-mail which can be accessed remotely for added convenience.

The Centers services and high-tech facilities will boost entrepreneurs image by elevating their level of professionalism, said Power Media Group CEO and CFO Tony Gracia.

Prospective clients are looking for three things: pricing, product and most important, service. They want to know is this business professional enough to handle my needs? he said. I believe this Center will help a lot of businesses get to that next level faster.

To help entrepreneurs achieve their goals, the Center will leverage the resources and know-how of Power Media Group on behalf of the small businesses. The Center will offer free weekly one-hour seminars on the basic steps to successfully launch a business - everything from designing a logo to filing a fictitious name. The seminars will offer information on legal issues, laws and regulations, taxes, sales techniques and will also include tutorials on accounting systems such as Quick Books.

Its knowledge and keeping up with technology which will give businesses the power to reach heir goals, Patricia said.

Power Media Group will also help members develop a marketing and advertising strategy individually tailored to their business for an additional cost.

Every business has needs that have to be custom tailored to provide the company with a perfect suit. We look at the entrepreneurs vision and goals, at their market niche and we understand their clientele.
