iPhone and Android Developers Group Hosting Event at D.C. Innovation Hotspot 1410Q

The Washington D.C. iPhone/Android/Smartphone Developers group is hosting a Developers Roundtable + AppShare event on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at new entrepreneur hotspot 1410Q.


The event, which begins at 6 p.m., will feature discussion about the current mobile market as well as AppSharea chance for developers to exhibit new creations and get feedback from members through a feedback process powered by member company Zerion Software. The first five people to sign up for the AppShare are being given five minutes to present.


The Meetup is being held at 1410Q (http://www.1410Q.com), a new innovation hotspot founded by mobile app developers PointAbout, Inc. The center, which opened in January, aims to bring together area talent for idea-sharing and creation.

American Marketing Association Hosts How-To Series Event on Blogging and Tweeting at 1410Q

The D.C. chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMADC) is hosting a follow-up workshop How To Blog and Tweet for Marketers at new entrepreneur center 1410Q in downtown Washington, D.C. on Thursday, March 18.


The workshop features tried-and-true tips from social media experts Daniel Odio, cofounder of mobile app developer PointAbout Inc., and Emmett Murphy, creative director at 3 Click Media. Odio and Murphy will discuss specific questions and scenarios and present a number of case studies.


Daniel Odio currently serves as Chief Operating Officer at PointAbout, a mobile app developer that made iPhone apps for The Washington Post, Cars.com and Burger King. Previously, Odio started a real estate brokerage covering commercial and residential properties. Odio has been featured on CNN, CNBC, TLC, The Wall Street Journal and elsewhere for his innovative use of technology in the real estate market.


Emmett Murphy is the owner of Emmett Murphy Media & Entertainment Ltd. and the creative director at 3 Click Media. Murphy's career in media and entertainment development spans the New York theater scene, online community, corporate business and the international cruise line industry. He recently worked with Cirque du Soleil on Tapis Rouge, a multimedia VIP event which launched in June 2008 in conjunction with The Beatles LOVE playing at The Mirage Casino Resort in Las Vegas.


Odio and Murphy will lead the How To Blog and Tweet for Marketers workshop, which is free to anyone who attended the previous events on February 25 and March 11.


"AMADC's How To series has been immensely popular with local marketers since we launched the program in October, said Christie Susko, president-elect of AMADC. We're excited to extend the series to include hands-on workshops, the first to be held at 1410Q on blogging and tweeting techniques for marketers. The workshop will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 18th at 1410Q, a new innovation hotpot located at 1410 Q Street NW in Washington, D.C.
